TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) hosted a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense Istanbul Shipyard Command. During the visit, discussions were held on joint projects and cooperation opportunities that can be carried out between the two institutions.
TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) hosted the delegation of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) Istanbul Shipyard Command. During the meeting, potential projects and cooperation opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions were evaluated.
Within the scope of the technical visit, the delegation was introduced to TÜBİTAK MAM's scientific research infrastructures; Polymer Laboratory, Prepreg Production Line, High Temperature Materials Research Development and Repair Center of Excellence, Casting Technologies Laboratory, Piezoelectric Laboratory and Paint and Coating Technologies Laboratory, and provided detailed information on current projects and studies in these areas.
The meeting, which was held after the technical inspections, focused on sensor and system technologies, metallic and structural material technologies, and chemical process technologies. During the meeting, topics such as metallic materials, high temperature materials, sonar systems, coating technologies, chemical production processes, advanced polymer technologies and functional materials were discussed. The strategic importance of the projects to be developed in these areas was emphasized.
The visit was considered as a concrete step forward in terms of strengthening the cooperation between MSB Istanbul Shipyard Command and TÜBİTAK MAM and developing joint R&D projects. The parties expressed their common will to strengthen their strategic cooperation in the future.
