The 2nd Informative Meeting and Workshop on Rize Local Environment and Action Plan organized by Rize Municipality was held at İsmail Kahraman Cultural Center on 29 November 2016. Rize Deputy Governor Turan Yılmaz, Rize Mayor Prof. Dr. Reşat Kasap, Secretary General of the Union of Eastern Black Sea Municipalities Mehmet Şentürk, Rize Deputy Mayors İsmet Sivrikaya, Sultan Yılmaz, Rize Provincial Director of Environment and Urbanization Hasan Bebek, Rize Municipality Council Members, NGO Representatives, Lecturers, Mukhtars, institution employees, students and citizens attended the workshop.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tüfekçi (Karadeniz Technical University), Prof. Dr. Kadir Kesitoğlu (Uludağ University), Assoc. Dr. Nedim Özdemir (Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ülkü Alver (Istanbul University), Expert Researcher Volkan Pelitli (TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute), Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ülgen Aytan (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University), while Prof. Dr. Bülent Verep (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University), Onur Öztürk, Eser Bostan and Serdar Bostancı participated as speakers in Session 2. The results that emerged in line with the data obtained throughout the province were conveyed to the participants of the workshop with visual presentations, the objectives of the project were discussed and steps were taken to realize new projects.
