The cooperation between TÜBİTAK MAM and TCDD, which launched the E1000, the first national electric shunting locomotive of our country, had recently launched the first national mainline locomotive era in railways with the E5000 project. The gains obtained from these projects carried out within the TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute constitute a strong basis for new studies between the two institutions. TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan and TCDD General Manager İsa Apaydın came together to discuss the status of current projects and to increase cooperation. During the meeting held in the office of TCDD General Manager İsa Apaydın, the work of TUBITAK MAM Energy Institute as well as the national products of TÜBİTAK MAM Materials Institute, which are used in railways, were evaluated.

İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TÜBİTAK MAM, expressed his satisfaction that the R&D studies of MAM Institutes on rail vehicles will contribute to the economy by turning into national products in cooperation with TCDD. TCDD General Manager İsa Apaydın also expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation.
