On 05 March 2014, within the scope of the "Determination of Resource Efficiency Potential in Industry" project initiated by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and carried out by TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Clean Production Institute organized the "Determination of Resource Efficiency Potential in Industry Project - Identification of Enterprises Workshop" on 26 January 2015. The workshop was organized according to NACE Rev. 2 codes (10) Manufacture of food products, (13) Manufacture of textile products, (20) Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, (23) Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products and (24) Basic metal industry. Approximately 50 people participated, including sector associations, sector unions, sector experts and TÜBİTAK MAM and Anadolu University project team.
At the workshop, participants were informed about the project and its methodology and the face-to-face survey to be conducted with enterprises was evaluated. Afterwards, for the survey and field studies, the lists of enterprises prepared in advance for the priority sub-sectors identified in the project with sector associations and experts were examined and small, medium and large-scale enterprises that apply the best available techniques, make technological investments/improvements to increase resource efficiency, and realize savings in energy, water, raw materials and waste were identified.
