The results of the "Survey Studies for the Production of Solar Cells in Turkey Project" were announced at a Panel held in Konya on October 12, 2017.
Supported by the KOP Regional Development Administration under the Ministry of Development, carried out by TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and carried out with the contributions of Middle East Technical University (METU) and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, the results of the "Study Studies for the Production of Solar Cells in Our Country Project" were announced with a Panel held in Konya on October 12, 2017.
KOP Administration President İhsan Bostancı, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar, METU Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Oral and TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Dr. İbrahim Bekâr led the Panel: Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, representatives of UNICOP Universities, Provincial Directors of public institutions from Konya, Karaman, Aksaray, Niğde, Nevşehir, Yozgat, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir provinces, Academic Staff, Non-Governmental Organizations and private sector representatives.
On behalf of TÜBİTAK MAM, Materials Institute Assistant Director Dr. Salih Dabak, Business Development Manager Nuh Yılmaz, Project Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alp Osman Kodolbaş and Dr. Okan Yılmaz also took part in the panel. Speaking at the panel, TÜBİTAK MAM President Assist. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Bekâr emphasized that TÜBİTAK MAM is ready to cooperate with the KOP Presidency, the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to guarantee high efficiency from solar power plants to be established in our country for many years with the important knowledge provided by the project. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alp Osman Kodolbaş and Dr. Okan Yılmaz also presented papers on the project results.
Following the speeches, the participants were informed about the outputs of the project, namely; "Status and Trends of the Photovoltaic Sector in the World and Turkey", "EİEB/YEKA Lands in the KOP Region and Their Characteristics", "Photovoltaic Potential Analysis of the KOP Region", "Photovoltaic Solar Energy Value Chain Investment and Production Feasibility", "Determination of Suitable Photovoltaic Panel Technology for YEKA Lands" and "Large Scale SPP Investments and Return Periods".
