Marmara Municipalities Union and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın met with Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) for the "Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Production Incentive" project with purchase guarantee. Within the scope of the cooperation to be established between the two institutions, they will contribute to the development and production of value-added industrial products in Kocaeli province by using their "Qualified Human Resources" and "Infrastructures" in their fields of expertise together.
TOURED THE FACILITIES, RECEIVED INFORMATION ABOUT THE INSTITUTES
President Büyükakın toured the Food Institute (GE) Pilot Plant and Chemical Technology Institute (CTE) Flexible Pilot Plant owned by TÜBİTAK MAM and stated that the aim of the cooperation is to support regional development through product development and effective utilization. During the visit, which was also attended by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Dr. Hasan Aydınlık, it was also stated that the "Kocaeli Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Production Incentive" project will be strengthened by the relevant institutes of TÜBİTAK MAM with their competencies.
SUPPORT MINIMUM 10 AND MAXIMUM 15 ACRES
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will start the "Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Production Incentive" project in Kandıra, which was selected as the pilot region. In the project, which was initiated to increase the income in the villages and raise the income level of the farmers, the support was determined as minimum 10 and maximum 15 acres. The total amount of land to be supported in applications is 1200 acres.
