Within the scope of TUBITAK 4004, 16th Nature Education and Science Schools Program, the project "The Black Box of Our World, the Poles, is Enlightened by Science", which was carried out under the leadership of Trabzon Provincial Directorate of National Education and with the support of TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute, was successfully completed on 9 - 13 October 2022.

In the project, which received nearly 300 applications from 49 different provinces, teachers from 28 different high school branches from 20 different provinces had the opportunity to learn about the poles closely. Through documentaries, presentations, workshops, awareness raising activities and many other activities, striking information about the poles was shared with the participants by the trainers.

The project also organized a painting competition for middle school students and the winners received their awards. The winning picture was presented to Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, Director of the TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute, by Project Coordinator Dr. Gamze Tuti and hung in the Institute.

On the last day of the project, participants visited the TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute and the Polar Science House on the last day of the project, where scientists who went to the poles within the scope of our National Polar Science Expeditions organized since 2017 took part as trainers.
