Oxygenated Individual Rescuer Prepares for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic

Since 2012, TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, which has been working on air freshening and life support systems, has started R&D activities to produce emergency escape masks and oxygenated personal rescuers with domestic facilities after the Soma disaster in our country.

Another historical threshold has been left behind in the development of the "Oxygen Personal Rescuer (OFK)", which will be produced with domestic facilities together with MFA, a pioneer in its sector and a company that produces completely domestic products.

In the tests carried out in the laboratories of the General Directorate of Turkish Hard Coal Authority, the performance tests of the chemical substance produced by TUBITAK MAM to be used in OFK were successfully carried out.

With ergonomic, portable and modern personal rescuers to be produced entirely with domestic and national facilities, it is aimed to provide sufficient breathing air to the user during emergency escape in cases where there are toxic gases in the ambient air or the amount of oxygen is not sufficient.

The OFK, which has passed the critical R&D threshold, is planned to be brought to our country in the 100th anniversary of our Republic.

It is of strategic importance for our country to be able to produce these products, which have no domestic producers in our country and are produced by only a few companies in the world, with domestic and national capabilities and to be able to supply them quickly in case of need.
