"Ministerial Conference on Strengthening Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation through Research and Innovation" was held on 3-4 May 2017 in Valletta, Malta.

In this framework, panel discussions on topics on the agenda of Euro-Mediterranean scientific cooperation (PRIMA, Migration and Bluemed Initiative) and a Ministerial Conference with the participation of Ministers of Research and Innovation of Euro-Mediterranean Countries and European Commission Officials took place.

TÜBİTAK MAM President Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu participated in the conference. TÜBİTAK MAM President Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu delivered his speech on migration. Stating that the fight against migration, more than ever before, challenges national politics and international relations, Dr. Hasekioğlu said that Turkey is a member of the PRIMA Mediterranean Environmental Research Initiative, which he believes will help to use natural resources responsibly and protect them for future generations.
