Fikri Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, announced the launch of the industrial products web portal "www.lonca.gov.tr"The portal has started to serve in English in line with the demands," he said, adding that the number of visitors to the portal has reached approximately 200 thousand.

Işık made statements regarding "Lonca", Turkey's industrial inventory created on the basis of industrial registry records.

Pointing out that they established Lonca to overcome the lack of information and communication in the country's industry, Işık said that the portal is a very important data source for entrepreneurs, importers, exporters and researchers.

Pointing out that the portal, which gathers companies and their products under a single roof, enables producers and investors to meet, Işık said that the portal provides information on hundreds of thousands of products produced by thousands of enterprises in Turkey.www.lonca.gov.tr", emphasizing that it can be accessed with a click.

Işık stated that the portal has been visited by approximately 200 thousand people since May last year, and continued as follows:

"In Lonca, which is prepared on the basis of the industrial registry records kept by our ministry in accordance with the Industrial Registry Law and which is one of the most important data sources of our country regarding industrial enterprises, the title, address, contact and product information of more than 131 thousand micro, small, medium and large-scale enterprises can be dynamically monitored. The portal is updated with annual business tables. Industrial registry records, which include more than 100 data fields such as 'Which enterprise produces what, what it exports, what its capacity is, what it consumes while producing, what types of energy it uses' on the basis of provinces and districts, serve as the most important data source of our country regarding industrial enterprises."

Minister Işık stated that the portal, which was prepared in Turkish, started to serve in English in line with the requests received. Işık said, "We also made an announcement to foreign commercial consultancies on this issue. Thanks to the portal, businesses will be able to promote their products at home and abroad more easily and quickly. Thus, we have created a new cooperation environment on behalf of businesses with the Guild."
