Dr. Mehmet Altuğ, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lokman Hekim Healthcare Group, visited TUBITAK Marmara Research Center within the scope of discussing the studies and possible collaborations for Lokman Hekim University, which is planned to be established.

During the visit, which took place under the coordination of the Strategy Planning Unit, TÜBİTAK MAM Food Institute Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cesarettin Alaşalvar gave information on 'Phytochemical Characterization of Edible Medicinal-Aromatic Wild Plants, Investigation of Usability in Food Industry and Development of Functional Products', while TÜBİTAK MAM Food Institute Deputy Director Dr. İncinur Hasbay introduced the Institute.

Possible cooperation opportunities in the fields of phytochemicals, bioactive compounds, medicinal and aromatic plants, functional products, clinical studies and halal food, which are among the fields of study of the Food Institute that overlap with the studies planned to be carried out at Lokman Hekim University, which is in preparation for its establishment, were discussed. The visit ended with a tour of the Food Institute and TÜBİTAK MAM Campus.
