The Pharmacology meeting was hosted by TÜBİTAK MAM on October 9, 2019 with the participation of Kocaeli University Rector Prof. Dr. Sadettin Hülagü, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Nilgün Fığlalı, Ministry of Industry and Technology Kocaeli Provincial Director İlhan Aydın, Kocaeli Chamber of Industry officials and representatives of pharmaceutical companies leading the sector.

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, Head of the Center, stated that many innovations in the health system also concern the pharmaceutical industry and that important steps have been taken in the field of preventive medicine as well as treatment. He stated that the TÜBİTAK MAM Herbal Medicine Center of Excellence is open to working together with our Universities and the Sector.

Prof. Dr. Sadettin Hülagü, Rector of Kocaeli University, said that the focus of the change process in the world is on human beings, life expectancy is increasing, immunity levels are changing, and health problems are diversifying according to environmental effects. While stating that the global importance of the pharmaceutical industry is increasing day by day in the process of change, he emphasized the importance of the infrastructure investments made in Kocaeli University Hospital.

Following the presentations of Prof. Dr. Osman Okur, Director of MAM Institute of Chemical Technology, Prof. Dr. Şaban Tekin, Director of Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology, and Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Efendi from Kocaeli University, a visit was made to the Herbal Medicine Center of Excellence and the Biotechnological Medicine Center of Excellence.
