KOCAELI GOVERNOR MR. HÜSEYİN AKSOY VISITED TÜBİTAK GEBZE CAMPUS

Mr. Hüseyin Aksoy, Governor of Kocaeli. Hüseyin Aksoy visited TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus, the largest R&D Campus in Turkey. During the visit hosted by Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, Gebze District Governor Mustafa Güler; the Presidents and Directors of TUBITAK Centers and Institutes, namely BİLGEM, UME, TÜSSİDE and MARTEK, which are located within the Gebze Campus; Prof. Dr. Alikram Nuhbalaoğlu, Director of Basic Sciences Research Institute; and Hayrettin Altunkaya, Advisor to TÜBİTAK MAM President were also present.

Within the scope of the program, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TÜBİTAK MAM; Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, President of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM; Dr. Mustafa Çetintaş, Director of TÜBİTAK UME; Tezer Battal, Director of TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE; and Dr. Orhan Çömlek, General Manager of TÜBİTAK MARTEK; briefed Mr. Hüseyin Aksoy, Governor of Kocaeli. Hüseyin Aksoy about the activities of the Centers and Institutes.

After the presentations, Kocaeli Governor Mr. Hüseyin Aksoy and the accompanying delegation inspected the Trijen Pilot Plant, which is the only facility in Turkey for the production of liquid fuel from coal within the TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute. Then, the High Temperature Center of Excellence within the TÜBİTAK MAM Institute of Materials was visited. The managers of the Institute of Materials informed Mr. Hüseyin Aksoy Hüseyin Aksoy about the turbine blades, which are the first domestic product produced in our country, and other competencies of the center.

Mr. Hüseyin Aksoy, Governor of Kocaeli Hüseyin Aksoy expressed his pleasure to see the R&D activities and competencies carried out at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus. The program ended with visits to the laboratories within BİLGEM and UME.
