On February 11, 2015, George Tucker, R&D Projects Coordinator of the American Consulate in Turkey, and on February 13, 2015, Dr. Izhar Ul-Haq and Dr. Katharine Robertson, Business Development Directors of the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (ISTFC) visited TÜBİTAK MAM to develop joint projects.

The delegations, led by TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, exchanged views on the development of joint projects between TÜBİTAK MAM and research institutions in the USA and the UK. The meetings focused on the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Kâtip Çelebi - Newton grants established as a result of the agreement between the UK and Turkey, and the delegates were informed about the priority research areas of TÜBİTAK MAM and their work.

After the meetings, Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı presented gifts and plaques to the guests in memory of the visits.

The delegations then visited the Environment and Cleaner Production, Energy, Gene Engineering and Biotechnology, Materials and Chemistry institutes and received detailed information about the work carried out.
