ICGEB's 2015 Support Programs Published

The 2015 support programs of the International Center for Gene Engineering and Biotechnology Research (ICGEB) have been published.

The International Centre for Gene Engineering and Biotechnology Research (ICGEB) was born as a special project proposed at the Belgrade Conference in 1984 and initiated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in 1987. In 1996, it was separated from UNIDO and continued its activities as an administratively and economically independent organization. ICGEB was established to support the establishment of Biotechnology infrastructure in developing countries and to increase their interaction in the field of Biotechnology. Its headquarters is located in Trieste (Italy) and 3 research centers are located in Trieste, New Delhi (India) and Cape Town (South Africa). ICGEB is also a center of excellence consisting of 40 Affiliated Centers in 61 full member countries worldwide.

TUBITAK Marmara Research Center Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology (MAM-GMBE), as an affiliated center, has been representing TÜBİTAK and our country in this organization since 1989.

ICGEB's programs open to the evaluation of researchers from our country are as follows:

  • PhD Scholarships,
  • Postdoctoral Fellowships,
  • Joint Research Projects,
  • Repatriation Support, Support for Organizing Courses, Meetings and Workshops
