Technology / Product Features and Benefits

With the TEKİS system developed, effective and widespread monitoring of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Network has become possible. TEKİS helps the management of the grid by automating the collection of high-resolution data from the grid, detection, monitoring, analysis and reporting of power quality events and other problems occurring in the grid, and enables forward-looking plans and projections related to the grid.

TEKİS enables the automatic collection of power and power quality parameters from the electricity grid at the same time, in different and high resolutions. These data are automatically analyzed using big data analytics methods. In addition to voltage events, power quality events are also detected on current and power. The causes of power quality events are automatically determined with the event classification capability that will use artificial intelligence technologies. With the voltage pit direction detection capability, the source of such events is automatically detected using different analysis methods.

Technical Skills

Calculation of Power, Power Quality and Phasor Data

Power and power quality parameters and phasor data from the Turkish Electricity Transmission System are collected simultaneously, at different and high resolutions and in accordance with relevant international standards (such as IEC 61000-4-30).

Storage of Network Data in a Centralized Database

In case of detection of power quality events, in addition to the event header information, the raw data of the events can be stored in COMTRADE (IEEE/IEC C37.111) format, made available to users and detailed analysis can be performed on this data.

Real-Time Data Monitoring

Data can be monitored in real-time as synchronous graphs.

Map-Based Monitoring

Detected power quality events and defined alarms and load flow can be monitored on a map-based basis.

Historical Data Query and Report Generation

Data can be queried retrospectively and automatic reports can be generated in accordance with international standards such as EN 50160 and EN 61000-2-4.

Voltage Pit Direction Determination

  • With the ability to identify the direction of voltage troughs, it is possible to automatically determine whether these events are caused by the transmission network or the transmission system user.
  • Voltage pit and outage indices can be calculated automatically.
  • The distance of detected events can be calculated automatically.

  • Artificial Intelligence Based Event Classification

With event classification capability using artificial intelligence technologies, the causes of power quality events can be determined automatically and in real-time.

Ability to Receive Data from Different Measurement Devices

In addition to voltage events, power quality events can also be detected through current and power data.

Automatic Integration with Other Energy Systems

    • Electric Power System Operator (TEİAŞ): Instant monitoring of the national transmission grid, managing power quality and ensuring system reliability
    • Substations: Centralized collection and analysis of data from high and medium voltage substations
    • Electric Energy Measurement: Monitoring and reporting compliance with quality standards across the network
