The Smart Protection System (SIPS) is a strategic software and control infrastructure that maximizes the reliability and stability of Turkey's electricity transmission grid. The fact that it has reached the highest level of technology readiness (THS 9) and has been licensed and put into active use by the national grid operator TEİAŞ confirms the success and importance of the system. SIPS plays a key role in the prevention of large-scale and chain-reaction failures.

It analyzes the instantaneous state of the grid holistically using synchronized data from different points of the grid (such as PMU - Phasor Measurement Unit data).
Automatic Protection and Control
Based on predefined scenarios, it automatically triggers control actions such as generator or load shedding to prevent system collapse in the event of a fault.
Web Based Monitoring Infrastructure
It offers a user-friendly interface where system operators can monitor the network status and SIPS operation in real time.
Failure Reporting and Recording Infrastructure
It creates a comprehensive database for post-failure analysis and reporting by recording all events and system responses in detail.

- Patent / Licensing Status: For the system Simple Use License to TEİAŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Company) has been granted. This means that TEİAŞ has the right to use the system for its own operations.
