The opening meeting of the Water Quality Monitoring in Sakarya Basin and Capacity Building of DSI Project between TÜBİTAK MAM and General Directorate of DSI was held at the General Directorate of DSI in Ankara on Thursday, November 16, 2017 with the participation of Deputy General Director of DSI Mr. Kaya YILDIZ, Deputy General Director of OSIB Mr. Bilal DİKMEN, Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute Dr. Selma AYAZ, Project Coordinator Dr. Oltan CANLI and Tübitak MAM ÇTÜE Project team.
The meeting was attended by 86 representatives from 5 regions (Bursa, Eskişehir, Konya, Ankara and Isparta) of the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works and related institutions and organizations (Technical Research and Quality Control Department, Survey Planning and Allocations Department, Drinking Water Department, Wastewater Department, Geotechnical and YAS Department, Technology Department).
At the opening meeting, Dr. Selma AYAZ, Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute, gave a brief briefing on the project work, followed by a presentation by Dr. Oltan Canlı, the project coordinator, on the Project introduction presentation, sampling, delivery and analysis, analysis results and reporting.

Water Quality Monitoring in Sakarya Basin and Capacity Building of DSI Project Information Note:

The project aims to monitor water quality in the Sakarya Basin within the framework of the Basin Monitoring Program prepared in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulation on the Monitoring of Surface and Groundwater" and to evaluate all data obtained according to the relevant legislation.
Within the framework of the Basin Monitoring Program prepared in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulation on the Monitoring of Surface and Ground Waters" in the Sakarya Basin, the project consists of sampling from surveillance (preliminary) monitoring and protected area monitoring points, measurement and analysis of the requested parameters, evaluation and reporting of all monitoring results according to the relevant legislation, and entering them into the DSİ SVT-Water Quality Module with their coordinates on basin basis, In case the "National Water Information System" is commissioned, ensuring the transfer of data to this system via SVT, providing theoretical and practical trainings to DSİ personnel on physical, chemical, biological and hydromorphological analysis and monitoring within the scope of this work, including sampling, determining the current status of the infrastructures of DSİ General Directorate and DSİ Regional Directorate within the scope of the work and making short, medium and long term planning.
