CORNET "OrangeOil" WORKSHOP

An online workshop was held on 06 November 2023 within the scope of the "Development of a Process for the Production of Bio-based Two-Component Epoxy Resin from Renewable Raw Materials-OrangeOil" Project carried out in cooperation with TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), Fraunhofer Institute (Fraunhofer IMWS) and German Plastics Center (SKZ).

 

The workshop, which took place with many participants including the Mediterranean Exporters' Associations (AKİB) and plastics and packaging industry companies, addressed the issues of obtaining renewable raw materials from citrus fruits and the environmental impact of existing epoxy resin technologies. In addition, informative presentations were made on bio-based resin technologies, sustainability and circular economy.

 

Project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selda Hocaoğlu, assistant project coordinators Dr. Banu Bahar, Dr. Barış Güzel and Elmas Eva Öktem Olgun, project researcher Dr. Recep Partal and project graduate fellows Beyza Yüce and Derya Kaya made presentations.

 

At the workshop, Dr. Tuncay Baydemir, one of the authors of TÜBİTAK Science and Technical Journal, gave a speech about epoxy resin technologies and application areas.

 

This event provided an opportunity to share the work being done to take important steps towards the production of innovative and environmentally friendly materials with a wide audience of experts in their fields.
