A cooperation protocol was signed between TÜBİTAK MAM and Gebze Technical University. Within the scope of the protocol, it is aimed to jointly use the laboratory infrastructures and human resources within the scope of the legislation to which the parties are subject in their research, development, education and administrative activities in scientific and technological fields.
At the signing ceremony held at the Rectorate of Gebze Technical University, TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahadır TUNABOYLU stated that this protocol is the first step in the cooperation between the two institutions and said that more will always be targeted with the future studies. Prof. Dr. Haluk GÖRGÜN, Rector of Gebze Technical University (GTU), pointed out the importance of this protocol in terms of regional and national contribution and stated that the protocol has been at the top of his calendar since his appointment and that it will be a means to strengthen the ties between the two institutions in a common synergy. In the meeting held after the signing ceremony, institutional cooperation issues and bilateral projects were evaluated. Within the scope of the protocol signed between TÜBİTAK MAM and GTU by taking the opinions of all stakeholders, a comprehensive cooperation agreement has been provided for the first time in many areas such as realizing national projects for our country together, research and student exchange, service procurement in various fields, quality and certification.
Within the scope of the protocol, the Center and the University;
- Providing technical, financial, administrative and infrastructure support to projects planned in scientific and technological fields,
- Mutual provision of services in the areas of measurement, analysis and infrastructure utilization,
- Assigning the researchers and academicians within the organization to the laboratories of the parties,
- Assigning faculty members of the University as executives, researchers or consultants in scientific and technological projects to be carried out within the Center,
- Mutual use of libraries, databases and computer software within the scope of the project,
- Opening of laboratories, workshops or offices in the campuses of the parties within the scope of the project,
- Opening interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary joint undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs within the university,
- Ensuring that the Center staff can give lectures within the University,
- Providing internship opportunities for university students at the Institutes within the Center,
- Providing university students with the opportunity to work part-time at the Center,
- The University allocates quotas in graduate programs for Center staff,
- It is aimed to ensure that researchers with academic titles working at the Center can be appointed as second advisors to master's and doctoral students within the University and take part in thesis monitoring committees.
