R&D Cooperation with Pakistan Increases

Within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between TUBITAK and Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) in the past years, TUBITAK Delegation held meetings in Pakistan at the invitation of PSF in order to increase the number of calls and to develop joint work opportunities with other science institutions in the country.

The visit, which took place between July 16-18, 2017, was chaired by Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu, Vice President of TÜBİTAK and President of MAM, and attended by Prof. Dr. Talip Alp, Member of TÜBİTAK Scientific Board, Orhan Muratoğlu, Vice President of Business Development at BİLGEM, Alper Ay, Business Development Manager at BİLGEM, Nuh Yılmaz, Business Development Manager at MAM, and Kerem Akıllı, NIDB Country Officer.

Within the scope of the visit, firstly, the topics related to the new call to be opened after the first cooperation call concluded in 2017 were discussed with Prof. Dr. M. Ashraf, President of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF). During this meeting, a mutual agreement was reached on increasing the number of calls.

During the visit, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), The Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS), Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science & Technology (PINSTECH), Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission Executive Unit (DPNER) were visited and mutual meetings were held with the officials.

Following the meetings, the delegation was received by Fazal Abbas Maken, Secretary of Pakistan's Ministry of Science and Technology.
