CLOSING MEETING OF WATER QUALITY MONITORING AND CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECT IN SAKARYA BASIN WAS HELD

The Closing Meeting of the "Water Quality Monitoring in Sakarya Basin and Capacity Building Project of DSI" between TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) was held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at DSI General R&D Training Center in Istanbul.

The Closing Meeting of the "Water Quality Monitoring in Sakarya Basin and Capacity Building Project of DSI" between TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) was held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at DSI General R&D Training Center in Istanbul.

The meeting was attended by Ahmet Özbek, Deputy Head of DSI Department of Survey, Planning and Allocations, Dr. Selma Ayaz, Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute (ÇTÜE), Dr. Oltan Canlı, Project Coordinator and the project team.

The meeting was held with the participation of 100 representatives from 5 regions (Bursa, Eskişehir, Konya, Ankara and Isparta) and related institutions and organizations (Department of Technical Research and Quality Control, Department of Survey Planning and Allocations, Department of Drinking Water, Department of Wastewater, Department of Geotechnical and YAS, Department of Technology).

At the meeting, Dr. Selma Ayaz, Director of TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE, gave information about the studies carried out by the Institute on products that come into contact with water and domestic product studies, and stated the work to be done in order for the project to be successful. Afterwards, Dr. Oltan Canlı, the project coordinator, discussed the project results and evaluation issues. Then, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halim Aytekin Ergül from Kocaeli University made presentations on the results of biological sampling within the scope of the project.
