Cleaner Production Trainings Organized in Tokat

"Soil Industry Application", "Textile Sector Application" and "Food Sector Application" were carried out on March 29-30, 2017 with the participation of 135 people in total with the cooperation of TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE and Tokat BSTİM.

In cooperation with TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute and Tokat Provincial Directorate of Science, Industry and Technology, "Cleaner Production Trainings - Soil Industry Application", "Cleaner Production Trainings - Textile Sector Application" and "Cleaner Production Trainings - Food Sector Application" were held on March 29-30, 2017 with the participation of 135 people in total.

The training was organized for the Soil Industry, Textile and Food sectors under 3 separate programs. While the training for Soil Industry was held in Erbaa Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Erbaa district where the sector is the most intense, the trainings for Textile and Food sectors were held in Tokat OSB İŞGEM building and Gaziosmanpaşa University respectively. With the trainings organized, it was aimed to increase the awareness of enterprises in Tokat province and its districts on cleaner production, resource efficiency and industrial symbiosis.
 

In the clean production trainings organized for all three sectors, Halil İbrahim Yüksel, Tokat Provincial Director of Science, Industry and Technology, firstly gave information about the current situation and needs of the Soil Industry, Textile and Food sectors. Afterwards, TUBITAK and its affiliated institutes were explained, while the work and activity areas of the Cleaner Production Strategic Business Unit, which serves as the National Cleaner Production Center, were explained. It was stated that the National Cleaner Production Center, in addition to developing R&D and P&D projects, aims to serve regional development by identifying the current resource consumption of enterprises through applied trainings and events, revealing clean production opportunities and thus serving regional development. The concepts of Cleaner Production, Resource Efficiency and Industrial Symbiosis were explained and the best practices that have been and are being carried out in our country and in the world on these issues were mentioned. In addition, the stages of Cleaner Production Audit and the benefits it provides to enterprises were explained with examples by the TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE team, which conducts Cleaner Production Audits for enterprises. In addition, clean production opportunities in the Soil Industry, Textile and Food sectors were mentioned and sample applications from the world and our country were presented to the sector participants.

Sector representatives, academicians and university students showed great interest in the trainings organized. In addition to the trainings, the National Cleaner Production Center team also organized a training at Dörtler Kablo San. Tic. Ltd. Şti., Şık Makas Giyim San. and Tic. A.Ş., Trelleborg Tokat Industrial Hoses San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti., Doğan Brick Tile Industry and Trade Ltd. Şti. and DİMES Gıda Sanayi ve Tic. A.Ş. facilities on a technical visit.
