Organized in cooperation with Gebze Chemical Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (GEBKİM) and TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) Chemical Technology Institute (KTE), Chemical Technology Days was held on 14 December 2016.
Representatives of the companies in GEBKİM, Ministry of Science, Industry and Trade and MAM KTE employees attended the Chemical Technology Days organized in GEBKİM.
The event started with the screening of the introductory films of GEBKİM and TÜBİTAK MAM. In his opening speech, Vefa İbrahim Aracı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GEBKİM, gave detailed information about GEBKİM and expressed their goal of establishing a vocational high school to support the chemical industry. In his opening speech, Dr. İbrahim Bekar, Vice President of Business Development and Industrialization at TÜBİTAK MAM, talked about MAM's goals of producing high value-added products and that they will determine their strategic plans together with industrialists.
After the speech of Prof. Dr. Ülker Beker, Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Institute of Chemical Technology (KTE), İlhan Aydın, Provincial Director of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, presented information about the sector to the participants. GEBKİM Board of Directors member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şafak Türkay also spoke about the cooperation between the chemical industry and research institutions and universities.
Detailed information was provided on TÜBİTAK TEYDEB supports and R&D Reform package. In the presentation on MAM KTE R&D Capabilities, detailed information was shared about the projects and industrial services (test/analysis) carried out in line with the fields of study. Following the presentation, the Institute's industrial services promotional movie was watched.
At the end of the program, representatives of companies located in GEBKİM and employees of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Technologies, Defence and Forensic Sciences, Industrial Technical Support Services and Production Technologies business units within the structure of MAM KTE held focus group discussions.
