Boron, a semiconductor element that does not exist in free form in nature, has about 230 minerals in nature, but a few of them are important for industry. It is known that boron products are used in nearly 250 fields such as glass and glass fiber industry, detergents and bleaches, ceramics, agriculture, flame retardants, wood protection, construction materials, chemistry, metallurgy, energy, defense materials, nuclear applications, medicine and advanced technology.

The book BOR (Compounds, Synthesis Methods, Properties, Applications), edited by Prof. Dr. Kenan Yünlü and published with the contributions of the National Boron Research Institute (BOREN), is the first and only Turkish book written in this context in the field of boron and consists of 820 pages.
