The "3rd Zero Waste Summit and Award Ceremony" was held at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul on December 23rd with the presence of the Honorable Mrs. Emine Erdoğan. The Zero Waste Summit, an example for the world, was held this year with the theme of "Climate and Youth".
Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mahmut Özer, Minister of National Education, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Youth and Sports, Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, President of TÜBİTAK, Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM Climate Change and Sustainability, and researchers from TÜBİTAK MAM participated in the Summit held within the scope of the "Zero Waste" Project launched by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in 2017.
The Zero Waste Summit, a model for the world, was held this year with the theme of "Climate and Youth". A total of 48 awards were given in 12 categories at the award ceremony. At the summit, TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal received the 'Science, Culture and Art Award' on behalf of our Institution within the scope of the projects supported and solutions developed by TUBITAK in line with the goal of "A World without Waste in 2053" with the studies carried out on the basis of Science and Technology for combating climate change and a sustainable future.
