The signing ceremony for the "R&D Projects" initiated by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) in 2020 was held.
At the ceremony held with the presence of Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR, President of the Defence Industry, Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, President of TÜBİTAK, and Dr. Osman OKUR, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM, the aim of the ceremony was to reduce foreign dependency and to realize indigenous, domestic and national solutions, R&D The Aviation Engine Materials Development Program Phase-1 (CEVHER) and the Thin and Lightweight Ballistic Resistant Glass System (KEHRIBAR) projects were signed.
Within the scope of the Aviation Engine Materials Development Program Phase-1 (CEVHER) Project to be carried out in cooperation with TÜBİTAK-MAM, TAI Motor Sanayii A.Ş. and Meta Nickel Cobalt Mining Company, the development of aviation gas turbine engine materials procured from abroad and the development of an encapsulation system for the production of turbine discs by powder metallurgy will be provided.
With the Thin and Lightweight Ballistic Resistant Glass System (KEHRIBAR) Project, which will be implemented in cooperation with TÜBİTAK MAM and ŞİŞECAM, it is aimed to develop a domestic and national thin and lightweight laminated glass system with high ballistic resistance, which can be used in air and sea platforms, especially armored vehicles on land platforms for the defense industry, which does not endanger the lives of personnel and the safety of defense equipment, does not affect the speed and mobility of the vehicle and the angle of vision.
