In line with our vision to be among the leading countries in the world with its original scientific studies on polar sciences, the "National Polar Science Program (2018-2022)" was prepared and put into effect by the Ministry of Industry and Technology on 27.12.2017. The main objectives of this program are to implement the National Polar Science Program under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and under the coordination of the TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute (KARE), to support the organization of national expeditions to Antarctica and the establishment of collaborations in polar sciences, to enable our scientists to be sent to the science bases of other countries and to ensure the establishment of a Turkish science base in Antarctica.

In line with these objectives, the COP 1001 and COP Foreign Research Base Participation (Bilateral Cooperation) Calls have been opened by TÜBİTAK Research Support Programs Directorate (ARDEB) as of 17.03.2020.
