Since 2000, April 26, the day on which the treaty establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) entered into force, has been celebrated worldwide as World Intellectual Property Day with various activities in order to bring the importance and value of intellectual property to the agenda. In this context;
"World Intellectual Property Day" was organized by the Patent Support Unit (PDB) of the Vice Presidency of Strategy and Technology Development (BYST) of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on 26 April 2016 at TÜBİTAK MAM Conference Hall/Gebze. The event was also announced by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), established under the umbrella of the United Nations, on its website.
Gülsen Oksay, Patent Support Unit Manager, and Uğur Yalçıner, Founding President of TPI, made presentations on intellectual and industrial property rights at the event, which was attended by centers, institutes and units in TÜBİTAK Gebze campus. The event was completed with questions and answers.
