Workshop on Wastewater Management Scenarios in Tourism Facilities

Within the scope of the "Establishment of an Environmentally Friendly Wastewater Management Model in Tourism" study carried out within the scope of the "Determination of Bathing Water Profiles in Turkish Coasts Project", "Workshop on the Evaluation of Wastewater Management Scenarios in Tourism Facilities in terms of Technical, Social and Environmental Indicators" was held on January 15, 2014 at TÜBİTAK/MAM, Gebze. Following the opening speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ertan Durmuşoğlu, Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute, Dr. Selda HOCAOĞLU, the project coordinator, gave brief information about the scenarios developed for tourism facilities and explained the method of criteria analysis study to be applied.

The workshop was attended by the project team, academicians and experts working on wastewater recovery and flow separation in domestic wastewater, a representative of the pilot tourism facility and an expert from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. During the workshop, alternative wastewater recovery scenarios and alternative treatment technologies developed for tourism facilities were evaluated within the framework of various criteria and the results were summarized at the end of the day.
