President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the team carrying out the 4th National Antarctic Science Expedition has reached the white continent and said, "Our 24 scientists in the delegation will carry out 15 different scientific studies for about 1 month."

Stating that Turkey will have a fixed place in Antarctica, President Erdoğan said: "This delegation will complete the necessary preparations to turn the temporary science base we established last year into a permanent base. When we establish our permanent base here, we will fly our flag permanently in Antarctica.

IMPORTANT INDICATORS OF GROWTH

President Erdoğan noted that while the economic confidence index and the real sector confidence index increased in January, the purchasing managers' index, one of the important indicators of growth, rose above the 50 threshold value again after a long time.

INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION HITS RECORD HIGH

Underlining that industrial production increased by 8.6 percent in December 2019, breaking the record of recent periods, Erdoğan said, 'We will continue to implement our growth model based on value-added production, exports and employment with determination. All data indicate that we will close 2019 with a positive growth. We closed last year with a current account surplus for the first time in many years.

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE GROWS

Emphasizing that the best answer to those who claim that Turkey will shrink is its growth rate and current account surplus, Erdoğan said: "In 2020, we will exceed our target of 5 percent and achieve a much stronger growth rate that surprises everyone. As can be seen, costs are falling, the confidence level of the business world is rising, and the hope of our citizens for the future is increasing.
