The meeting started with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Şükrü Karatepe, Chairman of the Presidential Local Government Policies Board, Fatma Şahin, Mayor of UMT and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, and Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, and included a presentation by TÜBİTAK MAM titled "Technological Approaches in Municipal Services Delivery: The Case of TÜBİTAK" by TÜBİTAK MAM.
Stating that TÜBİTAK is one of the most important institutions in Turkey, Şahin said that municipalities should benefit from TÜBİTAK's work while developing their services. Noting that theory and practice should be combined to solve problems, Şahin emphasized that otherwise these studies cannot go beyond wishes and wishes.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of ideas among the general secretaries on the development of municipal services, common problems and solutions.
