The Inaugural Meeting of the "Project on Updating the National Action Plan for the Protection of Our Seas against Land-Based Pollutants" was held on October 6, 2016 at the Feza GÜRSEY Meeting Hall of TUBITAK Presidency in Ankara. The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, TÜBİTAK-MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute, Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, TurkStat, SHOD, Provincial Directorates of Environment and Urbanization, Universities, NGOs and Metropolitan Municipalities in coastal cities.
The meeting started with a speech by Mr. Haldun KARAN, Deputy Director of TÜBİTAK-MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute. The meeting started with a speech by Assoc. The meeting started with the opening speech of Mr. Recep AKDENİZ, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, General Directorate of Environmental Management. Mr. Mr. Akdeniz underlined that stakeholder institutions and organizations should contribute within their duties and responsibilities in order to ensure that the Project can be realized as planned, and that the national action plan to be created in line with the contributions received will be a guide in the planning and implementation of the work to be done in the coming years.

Afterwards, a question and answer session was held with the participants, where questions about the project were answered and mutual contributions were evaluated.
