A workshop and training program on "Food Packaging and Storage" was organized on 14-18 December within the framework of the technical assistance program for developing and less developed countries in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Turkish Cooperation and Development Administration (TIKA), TÜBİTAK MAM and UNIDO.

The aim of the program is to inform the participants about food packaging and storage, to share experiences on the subject, to contribute to the development of the food packaging industry in their countries by improving cooperation between the participants and Turkey. In the program, participants from various universities, ministries or research institutes in Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Ukraine, Tunisia, Tanzania and Laos and Turkey shared their knowledge and experiences on food packaging and storage.

The program included theoretical trainings on food packaging and storage, country presentations, laboratory applications, technical company visits, cultural visits, opening and closing ceremony. In addition to TÜBİTAK MAM researchers, trainers from the ministry and private sector participated in the program. At the end of the program, the participants stated that the program was very useful for their countries and that the programs should continue.
