Union of Municipalities of Turkey (UMT) President and Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Fatma Şahin and UMT Secretary General Assoc. Dr. Birol Ekici visited TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on August 14, 2020.
Within the scope of the visit, TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, MAM Food Institute Director Assoc. Dr. Cesarettin Alaşalvar, MAM Polar Research Institute Director Assoc. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, MAM Chemical Technology Institute Director Dr. Osman Okur and MAM Earth and Marine Sciences Institute Director Prof. Dr. Abdullah Karaman participated in the meeting.
Following the presentation of MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, Vice President of MAM, presented the portfolio of products/technologies/services/tests and solutions prepared by MAM for municipalities, followed by a presentation by TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute (ÇTÜE), Earth and Marine Sciences Institute (YDBE), Energy Institute (EE) and Food Institute (GE) were visited and Fatma Şahin, President of Union of Municipalities of Turkey (UMT) and Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, was informed about Noise Barrier, Dissolved Oxygen, Water Safety, Fuel Cell and Hydrogen, Combustion/Gasification and MAM Medical Aromatic Plants Center.
Within the scope of the protocol to be signed between the Union of Municipalities of Turkey (UMT) and TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), our domestic and national solutions will be applied to the needs of our municipalities with the support of UMT.
