The delegation of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation paid a visit to TÜBİTAK MAM to examine the research activities carried out at the center. Following the presentations made by the research groups within the scope of the program, the laboratory infrastructures within the center were introduced to the delegation.
TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) hosted the delegation of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation. Within the scope of the visit, R&D activities and research infrastructures carried out within the center were examined on-site. Within the framework of the program, the technical capabilities of TÜBİTAK MAM were conveyed through presentations made by research groups and mutual information was shared between the two institutions.
The program started with an introductory presentation of TÜBİTAK MAM. Presentations were made on the activities carried out under the leadership of Dr. Erhan İlkmen, Leader of the Earth Sciences Research Group, and Dr. İbrahim Sani Özdemir, Leader of the Food Technologies Research Group.
Following the presentations, the delegation had the opportunity to closely examine the laboratory infrastructures of TÜBİTAK MAM. In this context; National 1 Megavolt Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (MV AMS) Laboratory, Underground Imaging Technologies Infrastructure and Turkey Food and Innovation Platform (TÜGİP) laboratories were visited and technical information was provided about the activities carried out.
Zafar Rakhmanov, Head of the Conservation and Restoration Laboratory of the Margulan Archaeological Institute of Kazakhstan Dr. Elizaveta Vishnyakova-Bizyaeva, Director of the Ostrov Krym Scientific Restoration Laboratory Dr. Elina Altynbekova and Head of Archaeological Heritage and Methodology at Eötvös Lorand University Dr. Alexandra Anders.
The delegation was accompanied by experts in the fields of cultural heritage, archaeology and restoration, as well as representatives of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. The program ended after lunch.
At the end of the program, evaluations were made to increase the level of mutual knowledge between the two institutions.
