TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) hosted the TÜPRAŞ delegation. The meeting held within the scope of the visit was chaired by Dr. Ersin Üresin, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM Materials and Process Technologies. During the meeting, cooperation opportunities in the fields of carbon capture, hydrogen technologies and circular economy were discussed comprehensively.
Emphasis on Carbon Storage Atlas
The meeting emphasized that carbon capture and storage technologies offer a critical solution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prevent future emissions. Noting that the preparation of a carbon storage atlas across Turkey is a strategic need, it was pointed out that a study in this field should be initiated in cooperation with TÜPRAŞ, TÜBİTAK MAM and other public stakeholders. TÜPRAŞ officials stated that these projects can be supported under the Horizon Europe Program and can be expanded through international partnerships.
