TÜBİTAK - SAS (Slovak Academy of Sciences) Workshop was held at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus

TÜBİTAK-SAS (Slovak Academy of Sciences) Workshop organized by TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) was held on 12-13 November 2017 at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus.

The workshop was attended by over 40 people, including 13 managers and researchers from the Slovak Republic, as well as representatives from TÜBİTAK, various universities, research centers and the private sector.

The workshop started with the opening speeches of Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu, Vice President of TÜBİTAK, Prof. Dr. Pavol Sajgalik, President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM and Dr. Jozef Sestak, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Istanbul, and continued with the evaluation presentations of bilateral relations.

After the opening speeches and presentations, project ideas to increase academic cooperation between Turkey and Slovakia were discussed and presentations were made in 4 different sessions for 2 days.

At the end of the sessions, each session coordinator made presentations on the results of their work and the results were written down. Different project proposals were presented in the fields of material sciences, nanotechnology, chemical technologies, food, medicine, genetics and biotechnology, especially in the magnesite and magnesium research working group.

Workshop Protocols were signed by TUBITAK Vice President Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu, SAS (Slovak Academy of Sciences) President Prof. Dr. Pavol Sajgalik, TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Istanbul Dr. Jozef Sestak.
