With exports of approximately USD 2 billion (according to TUIK) at the end of 2014, Manisa ranks among the top 10 exporting provinces and has an important place in Turkey's export share. Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Celal Bayar University were visited in Manisa on 5 February 2015 within the scope of TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) Industry and University Cooperation Days, which aim to increase industry and university cooperation. During these events, Chamber Members and University participants were informed by relevant experts about TÜBİTAK MAM's rich infrastructure, R&D activities and technology transfer practices.
During the Information Day events, under the chairmanship of Dr. Mehmet Toptaş, Vice President of Business Development and Industrialization at TÜBİTAK MAM, Prof. Dr. Şaban Tekin, Director of the Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology, Dr. Faruk Dinçer, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Environment and Cleaner Production, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haydar Livatyalı, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Energy, Dr. Fatih Hüseyinoğlu, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Materials, Dr. Tuğba Bedri Erdoğan, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Dr. İncinur Hasbay, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Food, Dr. Ali Cankur, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Earth Marine Sciences. Dr. Fatih Hüseyinoğlu, Senior Researcher from the Institute of Materials, Dr. Tuğba Bedri Erdoğan, Senior Researcher from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Dr. İncinur Hasbay, Senior Researcher from the Institute of Food, Ali Cankurtaranlar, Senior Researcher from the Institute of Earth Marine Sciences, and Seçil Selçuk, Manager of the Proposal and Contract Unit, made explanations to the participants about their activities in their fields of expertise and TÜBİTAK Support Programs. In the last part of the events, questions from the participants were answered by TUBITAK MAM officials.
