The project titled "SUN-TRANS - Solar Urban e-Mobility Transition", prepared under the coordination of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), ranked in the top two among 31 applications made within the scope of the European Union Horizon Europe call and was entitled to be supported.
The SUN-TRANS project, which will last 48 months in total, brings together 14 stakeholders from 7 different countries.
The project will be coordinated by the Power Electronics Research Group (GEAG), while project leader Aydın Başkaya, GEAG leader Dr. Ali Burhan Haliloğlu and Chemical Process Technologies Research Group (KPTAG) leader Elif Ünveren will take an active role in the project.
The SUN-TRANS project aims to increase the use of solar energy in urban mobility and develop charging systems based on photovoltaic technologies.
In this context, studies will be carried out on vehicle-integrated photovoltaic systems, inverter solutions and the adaptation of these technologies to urban e-mobility.
In addition to its coordinator role, the Power Electronics Research Group will be responsible for the vehicle-integrated inverter development work package.
KPTAG will integrate encapsulant technology to increase the efficiency of photovoltaic systems.
