SSM Technology Management Strategy Workshop
In 2011, the Undersecretariat of SSM prepared a 5-year Technology Management Strategy (2011-2016) document in order to increase efficiency in R&D and Technology Management and to improve its effectiveness with a strategic management perspective. A one-day workshop was organized on June 15, 2016 at Teknopark Istanbul to re-prepare this document to cover the years 2017-2021. Organized by SSM, the workshop was attended by a group of approximately one hundred experts from distinguished companies.
Representing TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center; Ahmet Taşkın, Havva Kazdal Zeytin, Özgür Duygulu from our Materials Institute; Haldun Karan from our Environment and Cleaner Production Institute; Elif Ünveren from our Chemical Technologies Institute participated in the workshop with our five researchers.
As is known, with the recent technology-oriented development of military systems and the increasing use of civilian technologies in military applications, the main axis of security and defense has become technology and information superiority. Superiority in this field will only be possible through rational and sustainable policies adopted for R&D and technology management. In the workshop, technology management strategies were identified for the Turkish defense sector for the next 20 years, taking into account global developments.
