"Horizon2020 for Turkey" Within the scope of the project, TUBITAK organized an internationally attended Project Market event called "ICTurkey 2016" in Istanbul. The event brought together nearly 300 Turkish and European researchers and private sector representatives to develop project partnerships and one-to-one meetings in the field of "Horizon 2020 Information and Communication Technologies".
Thanks to the Project Market event, Turkish academics, private sector representatives, municipalities and other public institutions and NGOs had the opportunity to cooperate with participants from 23 different European countries in line with their ideas and areas of expertise under the Horizon 2020 Program.
Within the scope of the event, Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu, Vice President of TÜBİTAK, gave a detailed speech about the potential and success of the EU Horizon 2020 Program, which is the world's largest civilian R&D and Innovation initiative with a budget of 80 billion Euros, which will last for 7 years (2014-2020), and the award and support programs carried out by TÜBİTAK at national level. Tom Bo Clausen from the European Commission's Directorate for Communication Networks, Content and Technology also gave an informative presentation on the upcoming calls for Information and Communication Technologies.
On behalf of TÜBİTAK MAM, Mr. İbrahim BEKAR, Vice President of Business Development and Industrialization, attended the event targeting Horizon2020 IoT, Big Data, Robotics, Photonics, Micro-Nano Electronics-ECSEL calls. Dr. İbrahim BEKAR, Vice President of Business Development and Industrialization, Ms. Seçil SELÇUK, Proposal and Contract Unit Manager. Dr. Elif ALTURK PARLAK, Dr. Cihat TAŞALTIN, Dr. Zühal TAŞDEMİR from the Materials Institute and Mesut Ufuk ALTUNKAYA from the Energy Institute.
In the Robotics session within the scope of the event, Mesut Ufuk ALTUNKAYA, one of the researchers of TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute, contributed to the session by making a presentation about the studies of TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute on the subject.
TÜBİTAK MAM researchers participated in one-on-one meetings held within the scope of the event, and cooperation opportunities were discussed and exchanged with some industrial organizations and academicians.
