An R&D Cooperation Meeting was held between TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) on March 31, 2021.

TAGEM Director General Dr. Nevzat BİRİŞİK, TÜBİTAK MAM President Dr. Osman OKUR, TAGEM Deputy Director General Assoc. Dr. İlhan AYDIN, TÜBİTAK President Advisor Assoc. Dr. Şiir KILKIŞ, TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Assoc. Dr. Burcu ÖZSOY, TAGEM Department Heads and TÜBİTAK MAM Institute Directors and Deputy Directors attended the meeting.

Delivering the opening speech at the meeting, TAGEM General Director Dr. Nevzat BİRİŞİK stated that they came together to draw the road map of TÜBİTAK MAM cooperation.

In his speech, TÜBİTAK MAM President V. Dr. Osman OKUR emphasized that it is aimed to continue the cooperation initiated under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, President of TÜBİTAK.

TAGEM Deputy Director General Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlhan AYDIN expressed his pleasure for the presence of TAGEM and TÜBİTAK participants together to discuss the details of the projects and stated that the purpose of this meeting is to evaluate the projects to be carried out in cooperation with TÜBİTAK MAM and TAGEM Institutes and to determine the steps to be taken.

Within the scope of the TAGEM introductory presentation made by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlhan AYDIN; information was given about the activities of the Research Institute, projects and publications. TAGEM's 2023 targets were explained and information about commercialized products was given.

Following the TAGEM presentation, Dr. Osman OKUR, President of TÜBİTAK MAM, gave an introductory presentation on the capabilities, infrastructure and qualified human resources of TÜBİTAK MAM. He touched upon the issues that can be cooperated with specific institutes.

Following the TÜBİTAK MAM presentation, TÜBİTAK MAM Institutes made presentations on their project proposals. The projects were evaluated by TÜBİTAK and TAGEM officials.
