TÜBİTAK MAM 2013 End of Year Celebration and Awards Ceremony

"2013 Year End Celebration and TÜBİTAK MAM Research and Support Awards Ceremony" was held on December 30, 2013 where TÜBİTAK MAM employees came together in order to encourage success and appreciate the employees at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey Marmara Research Center; within the scope of rewarding those who have shown outstanding achievement, outstanding efforts in line with the criteria defined for the specified categories and the organizations that provide the highest contribution to our Center from our external stakeholders.

This year, a total of 33 applications were received for the now traditional "MAM Research and Support Awards" in 6 categories. These 6 categories are as follows:

- Most Successful Researcher

- Most Successful Research Team

- Innovation

- Technology Development

- Collaboration and

- Research Support

A commission of 5 members was formed to evaluate the applications. Our Vice Presidents Dr. Suat GENÇ and Dr. Mehmet TOPTAŞ representing MAM, BİLGEM Vice President Dr. Murat BAKIR and UME Director Dr. Fatih ÜSTÜNER representing the Campus, and Sabancı University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL representing the University.

The committee members first evaluated the applications individually and then collectively. The Board took into account criteria such as technological depth, strategic dimension, originality and format.

After the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Murat AYDIN, President of our Center, the researchers who were found worthy of appreciation for their work in 2013 were given their awards. The award-winning researchers and our stakeholders and their categories are given below: 

Awarded to a maximum of three research staff members who have made the highest contribution in line with the criteria determined by their work at the institution. Most Successful Researcher Award who are eligible to receive

1-Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hacer DOĞAN from KE with her studies on coal and natural polymers

Awarded to a maximum of three research teams who have made the highest contribution in line with the criteria determined by their work at the institution. Most Successful Research Team Award who are eligible to receive;

  1. PROJECT TEAM from EE "INVERTED TECHNOLOGIES"
  • Prof. Dr. Hazım Faruk BİLGİN (Project Manager) and his team
  1. "DEVELOPMENT OF IMMUNOAFINITY COLONDS FOR AFLATOXIN DETECTION" AND "DEVELOPMENT OF MICROTOCOXIN ANALYSIS METHODS IN TRADITIONAL FOODS" PROJECT TEAM FROM GMBE
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selma ÖZTÜRK (Project Coordinator) and her team

Within the scope of the defined criteria; awarded to a maximum of one research team or researcher who carries out original, different, new ideas using basic or applied research results Innovation Award who are eligible to receive

  1. "STRONG GROUND MOTIONS MONITORING, RECORDING AND CONTROL SYSTEM PROJECT" by EE
  • Ersen AKDENİZ (Project Manager) and his team

As a result of the studies carried out with our external stakeholders; in line with the criteria determined, the awards given to the maximum three organizations that provide the greatest benefit/gain to MAM Collaboration Award who are eligible to receive;

  1. Halil ALIŞ - EUAŞ GENERAL MANAGER
  2. Atilla ÖZMEN - EUAŞ HEPP Department Head
  3. Nuri ŞERİFOĞLU - SEAŞ GENERAL MANAGER

Within the scope of the defined criteria; awarded to a maximum of one research team or researcher who carries out studies that will enable the successful transfer of technology, product and process to another institution/organization through sale/licensing in order to put it into production or use Technology Development Award who are eligible to receive;

  1. "INDUSTRIAL ENZYME PRODUCTION FOR FEED INDUSTRY (FEED-EN) PROJECT"
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevnur MANDACI (Project Executives) and her team

The Board received 4 applications in the Research Support category this year, but could not agree on an award.
