The 6th period performance of the LIGNONANO Consortium studies carried out within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1004 Program was submitted to the evaluation of the referee committee; scientific, technical and practical outputs related to advanced nanotechnological materials and systems were discussed in a holistic framework.
The 6th Referee Evaluation Meeting of the “Value-Added Advanced Nanotechnological Materials and Systems for Sustainable Circular Economy - LIGNONANO” Consortium supported under the TÜBİTAK 1004 Program was hosted by TÜBİTAK MAM. At the meeting, which brought together public, university and industry stakeholders, the 6th period outputs of the studies carried out within the consortium were evaluated.
The program started with a presentation and opening speech on behalf of TÜBİTAK MAM. In the opening speech, the importance of the sustainable circular economy approach in the field of advanced nanotechnological materials was emphasized. The contribution of high value-added materials and systems developed within the scope of the LIGNONANO Consortium to the R&D and technology development capacity of our country was highlighted. Throughout the meeting, the technical progress of the sub-projects, performance indicators, scientific outputs and application potentials for industry were presented to the referee committee. In the question-answer sessions following the presentations, project objectives, widespread impact, commercialization potential and interdisciplinary cooperation were evaluated in detail.
Term evaluation presentations were made by Beyzanur Tutuş, Pınar Darende, Dr. Yusuf Öztürk, Dr. Serap Hayat Soytaş, Dr. Cihat Taşaltın, Assoc. Dr. Meral Yüce Kurt, Assoc. Dr. Hasan Kurt, Prof. Dr. Gözde İnce, Prof. Dr. Seniha Güner and Prof. Dr. M. Vezir Kahraman. In the sessions, which were intense in terms of academic and technical content, the unique value of the project outputs and the sustainability perspective came to the fore.
The consortium structure included a strong university-industry cooperation. Participants included higher education institutions such as ITU, Marmara University, Sabancı University, METU, Ankara University, Yıldız Technical University, Gebze Technical University, TOBB University of Economics and Technology, as well as representatives from FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş., KORUMA Klor Alkali, Karel Kalıp and Nanosolar. TÜBİTAK and TÜBİTAK MAM researchers also contributed to the meeting.
In the general evaluation section of the meeting, the 6th semester performance was discussed from a holistic perspective. The project's scientific publication, patent, prototype development and industrialization targets were evaluated. Discussions were held on the technical roadmap for the upcoming period, the integration between work packages and the widespread impact of the outputs.
The LIGNONANO Consortium has put forward a strong national cooperation model in the field of advanced nanotechnological materials in line with the vision of a sustainable circular economy.
