TEKNOFEST Ended, TÜBİTAK Left Its Mark

TEKNOFEST, which was held again this year at Istanbul Atatürk Airport under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Technology Team Foundation of Turkey, brought together millions of technology enthusiasts and took place between April 27 and May 1. The closing ceremony of TEKNOFEST was held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport with the participation of Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Bayraktar and TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal.

The winners of TUBITAK's 14 competitions also received their awards on the main stage of TEKNOFEST. Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the T3 Foundation Selçuk Bayraktar, President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, unit managers responsible for the relevant competitions and those who received awards in the competitions took a souvenir photo.

TÜBİTAK, one of the leading stakeholders of TEKNOFEST, organized 14 competitions this year. Biotechnology Innovation Competition, Chip Design Competition, Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, Hyperloop Development Competition, High School Efficiency Challange Electric Vehicle Competition, International Efficiency Challange Electric Vehicle Competition, High School Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Competition, International Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Competition, High School Students' Climate Change Research Projects Competition, High School Students' Polar Research Projects Competition, University Students' Research Project Competitions, Artificial Intelligence in Transportation Competition, PARDUS 21 Bug Catching and Suggestion Competition, Robotaxi-Mobile Autonomous Vehicle Competition, young people demonstrated their knowledge and skills. Last year, 3 high school students selected among the winners of the High School Students Polar Research Projects Competition had the opportunity to test their award-winning projects in Antarctica. This practice was continued this year. This year, an additional student will participate in the Arctic expedition.

TÜBİTAK Stand Marked TEKNOFEST

Since 2018, TÜBİTAK, which has been taking part in TEKNOFEST with its races, welcomed its participants with a 950 square meter stand with various activities and exhibition products in the Festival Area I Block. Eskisehir 5000 Electric Main Line Locomotive and Original Engine models developed by TÜBİTAK RUTE were exhibited at the booth. TÜBİTAK SAGE, on the other hand, took its place at the TÜBİTAK stand with its new generation guidance kit GÖKÇE and KUZGUN missiles. At the booth, visitors had the opportunity to examine the communication satellite TÜRKSAT 6A, which is planned to be launched into space at the end of the year, and the high-resolution observation satellite İMECE, which was launched into space on April 15. TÜBİTAK UME exhibited its magnetometer, pitot tube, rubidium-based atomic clock and torque rod at the stand. TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM also took its place at the stand with PARDUS 21.4 GNOME, PARDUS ETAP and PARDUS Corporate Product family. TÜBİTAK experts, including TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, answered the questions of visitors and took photos with them at the booth during TEKNOFEST.

TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal visited the stands, chatted with visitors and answered their questions throughout TEKNOFEST. Mandal, who was especially interested in children, closely followed the workshops and science shows.

The President of TÜBİTAK never left young people alone, especially those who participated in the competitions organized by TÜBİTAK. Both during the competitions and at TEKNOFEST, he took one-on-one interest in them and had long conversations with them.

Foreign Guests Visited TUBITAK Stand

Prof. Dr. Mandal welcomed Ahmed Ali Omar, Minister of Industry and Mining of the Libyan National Unity Government; Keith Azzopardi Tanti, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation of Malta; and Dr. Paul Burrows, Secretary General of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO) at the TÜBİTAK stand. During the bilateral meetings, the issue of increasing cooperation was on the table.

TÜBİTAK BİLGEM organized METAVERSE event, YİTAL Experience Area and BİL BUL Cryptology activities within the scope of the festival. TÜBİTAK BİTO Science Centers organized colorful activities such as Biomimicry in Aviation, Rotocopter, Robo Arena, Amazing Human Anatomy, Bag Painting, Science Shows, Hologram, Constellation Binoculars, Earthquake Warning System, Virtual Reality Goggles. The Science Youth Quiz Competition also provided exciting moments for the participants.
