Nobel laureate scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on August 23, 2021.

Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar first visited TÜBİTAK Science High School and met with TÜBİTAK Science High School students. Following his visit to TÜBİTAK Science High School, he met with TÜBİTAK COVID-19 Turkey Platform Members at TÜBİTAK MAM. Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar was given on-site information about the end-to-end vaccine-pharmaceutical development and production infrastructures established on our campus by Prof. Dr. Şaban Tekin, Director of the Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology.

Molecular Biology Laboratory, Cell Culture Laboratory, Cell Development Laboratory within TÜBİTAK MAM Gene Engineering and Biotechnology Institute were visited. Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Vice President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil, TÜBİTAK MAM President V. Dr. Osman Okur and Vice President V. Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy accompanied Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar during his visit.

A meeting was held with TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, Vice President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil, TÜBİTAK MAM President V. Dr. Osman Okur, Vice President V. Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy and TÜBİTAK COVID-19 Turkey Platform Members. Presentations were made by TÜBİTAK COVID-19 Turkey Platform Members on vaccine and pharmaceutical studies carried out in our country.
