TÜBİTAK MAM came together with TÜPRAŞ, the largest petro-chemical producer in Turkey, to discuss the production of liquid fuel from coal.

TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, accompanied by a delegation, visited TÜPRAŞ and discussed with TÜPRAŞ General Manager İbrahim Yelmenoğlu the possible cooperation between the two institutions. During the visit, which was also attended by TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, MAM Energy Institute Director Prof. Dr. Abdülkadir Balıkçı and MAM Energy Institute Deputy Director Dr. Osman Okur, TÜBİTAK MAM's competencies, infrastructure facilities and projects on obtaining liquid fuel from our domestic coals were evaluated with TÜPRAŞ senior management. Obtaining petroleum and petroleum products from national resources, which constitute the largest current account deficit item of our country, is among the strategic priorities of both institutions.
