Polar Story Interview Receives Special Award

Sinan Yirmibeşoğlu, a researcher at our Institute, was interviewed and awarded a special prize at the COMnPlay Science Competition within the scope of Stem Discovery Week. Ekin Uzelli He represented Turkey.

The recently concluded Comnplay Science competition marked the STEM Discovery Week, which is organized to bring together European and worldwide projects, schools and initiatives in this field by promoting careers and studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

27 applications were received from 8 European countries;

  • Romania with 'Astrophysics is Cool' in the Most Inspiring category,
  • Spain with 'Another Way to See' in the Most Creative category and 'A life Dedicated to Animals' in the 16+ category,
  • In the under 12 category, Serbia won with 'Interview With My Uncle Researcher'.
  • In addition to the awards in 5 categories, the 12-year-old interviewed a researcher from the Turkish team that went to the North Pole with the title 'Scientists Saving The Arctic'. Ekin Uzelli special award, making our country one of the award-winning countries in the competition.

The interviews conducted by the award-winning contestants were transformed into illustrated stories by a professional graphic artist. COMnPLAYer app It was shared over the internet.
