The ANEMONE Project aims to build cross-border relations in the Black Sea Basin through networks of scientists and civil society organizations, forums and lasting partnerships, exchange of experiences and good practices, innovation, development of knowledge and skills through unified methods and joint expeditions, and concrete outputs such as pilot projects, common tools, online open access resources.

The opening meeting of the project was attended by Dr. Leyla G. Tolun, Project Coordinator from TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE and Hakan Atabay, Expert Researcher from the project research team. Following the speech of the NIMRD President, presentations were made by Dr. Laura Boicenco, Project Coordinator, and the Work Package Officers involved in the project. The second day program consisted of group work, parallel and joint sessions.

The aim of the project is to develop a common monitoring strategy for assessing the status of the Black Sea, using the most appropriate assessment criteria and indicators to be determined among the partners. While it is also planned to apply new methods and advanced techniques, the strategies to be developed will serve as a basis for the next steps.

ANEMONE Project (Assessing The Vulnerability Of The Black Sea Marine Ecosystem To Human Pressures) is supported by the Black Sea Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Program (CBC Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin 2014-2020) and is planned to be carried out between 26.07.2018 - 25.11.2020.
